Our Story

Whenever we think of awards our minds go to the superstars or superheroes in various fields of life. We mention those who come from wealth or those with big names. But wait a minute! Have you thought of thousands of talented people out there who have never had the opportunity to be recognized? There are gifted people around you praying for the right opportunity and time to showcase their talent to the world.

Interestingly you don't have to be born with some superpower to be a superstar or make a difference. All you need is the right drive, determination, discipline, and dedication to distinguish yourself in what you do. No one rewards mediocrity! People will only celebrate you for your difference and uniqueness and that's why we are here.

When I turned 50, I decided to celebrate great minds of all ages. So, instead of having a regular birthday event, we planned an award show. This marked the beginning of the Detroit Choice Awards. An event dedicated to recognizing great minds in our community and honoring hard work. Over the years my team and I have shaped the lives and destinies of many talented people in our community. 

We have given gifted minds a platform for recognition and the motivation to keep them going. Our awardees make their families proud and their lives take a new course. If you are ready to give your best to stand out from the rest then this is where you belong.
